WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING:

"After far too long a wait, singer/songwriter Melissa Morris has emerged from the open mic circuit with a concise volume of many stories. Opening with a jangly slap-funk support to a set of vocals that often soar over "Rooftop," Morris dips deeper into the groove for the percussive and pianistic title track. "Fall Into You" opens with moody, almost foreboding strings that wash through a nightscape lit by Morris's bright and breathy trills. "What Makes You Think" is a jazzy shuffle bedecked with Jewel tones while "Breathing Room" sparkles in a different way, returning to the slap-happy groove of the album's opener. Turning back to the milder moods, "For You" tells one more tale of faith and devotion before Morris gives it up to an old English professor for a plucky two-line rendition of "Tea In The Sahara" recorded live with fellow open mic ace Hugh McGowan. The wait was long and arduous, but hopefully this album is what its title says."

"Boston singer/songwriter Melissa Morris really shines on her debut album, Shape of Things to Come. From the first track, "Rooftop," I'm drawn into her and I'm digging it! Melissa's music blends nicely, making me want more. The second track, "Shape of Things to Come" is a beautiful ballad showing off Melissa's strong vocal talents. This is someone to watch out for in the Boston music scene."
